OVERVIEW

Join us for a five-day mountain experience that blends breathtaking scenery, physical challenge, and unforgettable moments of connection. Beginning in the iconic mountain town of Chamonix, this adventure takes you deep into the heart of the Swiss Alps, through tranquil forests, remote ridgelines, glittering alpine lakes, and right to the foot of towering glaciers.

You’ll journey across borders, hike to a spectacular 3,000-metre summit, spend two nights in a traditional mountain refuge, and get up close to the dramatic Corbassière Glacier - all under the guidance of expert mountain leaders and alongside a supportive team.

From sunrise views in high alpine wilderness to celebratory dinners back in Chamonix, this trip has everything: challenge, beauty, camaraderie, and the kind of memories that stay with you long after you’ve returned to the valley floor.

Whether you’re chasing a new perspective, pushing your comfort zone, or simply craving an adventure that reconnects you with nature, this is an unforgettable journey into some of Europe’s most awe-inspiring landscapes.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: 17 September

Arrive in Chamonix and settle into your accommodation before joining the group for welcome drinks and an evening meal together. We’ll walk through the plan for the days ahead and carry out a kit check to make sure everyone is fully prepared.

DAY 2: 18 September

After breakfast, we’ll travel into Switzerland, passing the iconic ski town of Verbier on our way to the trailhead. Our hike begins through peaceful forest trails before opening out onto a plateau, where we reach our mountain refuge at 2,100m.

In the afternoon, we’ll head out on a gentle acclimatisation hike to visit a series of beautiful alpine lakes. Dinner and overnight stay in the refuge.

DAY 3: 19 September

Following breakfast, we set off along the ridge towards the spectacular summit of Mont Rogneux (3,084m). We’ll enjoy lunch at the top, taking in breathtaking views across the Swiss Pennine Alps, including the Petit Combin (3,668m).

We then return to the refuge for well-earned drinks and a hearty evening meal. This is a truly unforgettable day in a remote, awe-inspiring mountain landscape.

DAY 4: 20 September

After breakfast in the refuge, we begin a beautiful traverse over a small col, leading to an unforgettable viewpoint near the Corbassière Glacier. We’ll stop for lunch before making our descent back into the valley.

From there, we travel back to Chamonix for celebratory drinks and a well-deserved three-course dinner together.

DAY 5: 21 September

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and some free time to explore Chamonix town centre before beginning your journey home.

Group Size

The expected group size of this trip will be around 12 people. This typically includes one or more M2M Beneficiaries, however this cannot always be guaranteed. Group Pace & Teamwork

Our Global Challenges are designed to encourage team spirit and community cohesion first and foremost. We invite you to connect with each other, find common ground and look out for each other. It is likely that there will be a varying mix of physical ability and confidence among the group. Our trips are all about working together, moving at the speed of the slowest person and being mindful of the needs of others to offer support where you can.

Guided Wellness Elements

Mind and body wellness is a core part of our ethos and features frequently within our outdoor trips and development programmes. Our Global Challenges sometimes involve some coaching exercises including breathwork, posed questions and gentle guided movement such as yoga or Qi Gong. Inclusion of these elements will depend upon the itinerary of each trip, and participation is always optional.

Meals & Dietary Requirements

We will have a hot dinner every night, with all meals included in the price of the trip. However, we recommend that participants bring cash for any extra food or beverages they may want during the journey.

All third party providers we partner with will cater for dietary requirements where possible. You will need to make yours known ahead of time by notifying the M2M trip organiser via email following sign up.
